We have said it once, but we will say it again, thank you for your patience and understanding during these last few weeks in which we have re-opened the aquatic facilities at Prince Alfred Park Pool and Victoria Park Pool.
With further easing of restrictions, we will be implementing a number of changes to operations at our outdoor aquatic facilities starting from Monday, the 22nd of June, please read on for further information.
With regards to our reciprocal facilities at Cook+Phillip Park, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre and the health club at Victoria Park Pool, operationally we are ready to go however are waiting for confirmation on a re-opening date from the City of Sydney Council. As soon as we are given this date it will be communicated to you via email, our website, and our Facebook page. We thank you again for your patience at this time and we look forward to being able to open our doors at our indoor aquatic and health club facilities soon!
Changes to Operations
Implementation of 25m lap lanes at Prince Alfred Park Pool
From the 22nd of June the 25 metre turning booms will be implemented at Prince Alfred Park Pool. This will create 2, 25m pools for our patrons to use, allowing us to have more swimmers, better lane availability, easy access to the correct lane speed and more community programs back in the pool.
The two 25 metre pools allow us to abide by the public health orders by controlling the flow of every patron and ensure the health, well-being and safety of all swimmers as well as providing the best possible swimming experience.
Removal of Advance Booking System
With further easing of restrictions allowing 3 swimmers per lane, and the use of the boom at Prince Alfred Park Pool we have decided to remove the need for advance booking and instead adopt a system whereby should capacity be reached a one in – one out policy will be implemented.
Maximum capacities will be the following:
- Prince Alfred Park Pool – 54 patrons
- Victoria Park Pool – 24 patrons
Onsite Payments to Resume
You will also be eligible to swim as many times as you like throughout the week so should you wish to reinstate your membership or enquire about becoming a direct debit member (for as little as $11.20 per week) please email email@example.com or simply respond to this email.
Our fortnightly direct-debit members and multi-visit pass holders will be asked to resume tapping their cards on the RFID scanners at reception to be granted access.
For our guests that opt to pay casually per visit, we will be taking EFTPOS payments only and will remain cashless for the time being.
Re-Instating Lane Speeds
Following the removal of our booking system, we will be reinstating the ‘free play’, slow, medium and fast lane signage.
The 3 patrons per lane requirement will still be upheld so for example, if you are wishing to use a fast lane however all fast lanes have 3 patrons in them, we request you use a medium lane.
Re-Opening of Changeroom Facilities
We will be reopening our changing room facilities allowing you to have a shower and get changed before and after your swim however we will have maximum capacities for the changing facilities to ensure the 4 square meter restriction is still being upheld within our facilities.
Resumption of Pool Equipment use
Personal pool equipment will now be allowed to ensure you get the best possible swimming experience. All pool equipment must be stored neatly at the end of your lane and in a kit big when not being used. However, the use of pool noodles and inflatable toys are still prohibited.
We ask patrons to please ensure their equipment is adequately cleaned between visits to ensure the safety of all our patrons.
As is the ‘new-normal’ at the moment, we will have a QR code located on the front door and at reception which will need to be scanned and completed upon EVERY entry. Your confirmation will need to be shown to our front of house team members before you are permitted entry to the facilities.
